01

Tree removal & felling

Taking a tree down safely, whether there is open space to drop it or we need to dismantle it section by section over a roof, fence or greenhouse.

Some trees are dead, unstable, outgrowing the space or damaging a building. Where there is no room to fell in one piece, we climb and lower the tree in sections on ropes so nothing lands where it shouldn't. All the timber and brash is cleared unless you'd like logs left behind.

02

Crown reduction & pruning

Reducing the height and spread of a tree while keeping its natural shape, so you get light back without losing the tree.

A crown reduction shortens the branches back to suitable growth points rather than cutting straight across the top. We also carry out crown lifting (raising the lower branches away from a lawn, path or drive) and crown thinning to let more light through the canopy.

03

Deadwooding

Removing dead, broken or hanging branches from a mature tree before they come down on their own.

Older trees shed deadwood, and it usually falls at the worst moment. We climb the tree and take out the dead and hanging limbs, leaving healthy growth untouched. It is one of the cheapest ways to make a large tree safe to sit under.

04

Stump grinding

Grinding a stump out below ground level so you can re-turf, plant or lay a patio over the top.

We grind the stump and the main root plate down into chippings, which can be taken away or backfilled into the hole. Where access is tight we use a narrow machine that fits through a standard garden gate.

05

Hedge trimming & reduction

Annual trims to keep a hedge sharp, or a hard reduction to bring an overgrown one back under control.

Conifer, laurel, beech, mixed native — we cut hedges back to a straight line and a level top, and can reduce height significantly where the hedge will take it. Clippings are chipped and removed and the ground is swept before we leave.

06

Storm damage & emergency clearance

Trees down on drives, roofs, fences and roads. We answer the phone around the clock.

After high winds the priority is making the site safe: cutting away what is under tension, clearing access and dealing with anything left hanging. Call us at any hour and we will tell you honestly how quickly we can be with you.
